Please thank Dick Brown for the photos of the lobby of the SS Cristobal. My father (Robert Jensen) was one of the captains before they retired the ship. I have a few photo's myself, but none that I can remember of the lobby. They brought back memories and are much appreciated. My dad requested the ships bell clock, which has passed to me, I keep it in my den for the memories of him and the ship. My brother has the big brass bell. Shannon Jensen

Bill, just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the pics and tour. I believe I saw my grandfather in one picture with 5 men 3 sitting and 2 standing. He arrived in 1903 and retired in 1937 and lived to be over 100. He had a camera that was delayed and took all sorts of pictures especially in the Colon area. We have a whole bar full of his pictures. Again, thank you for keeping the past alive. I was Cristobal, Colon born, New Cristobal and Margarita raised and part of 4 generations and am part of this legacy of the construction of the canal. Again thank you...Barbara (Erikson) Adamson

I was stationed at Albrook AFB, in 1957, assigned to the 1886th E&I Sqdn. They deactivated that squadron, and most of us got sent to Puerto Rico to finish our overseas tour.
Panama turned out to be one of the best assignments I had.

I lived on Ft. Clayton in the 1980's and it was the most beautiful place in the world.. Imiss that part of my life...
Your Modern Colon Aerial picture was great. I spent many years in New Cristobal and was able to locate places where my family lived from the early years of WW II until I graduated from CHS in 1955. I was living on Third Street at that time

My grandparents (Frances Camilla Dickey & William Dayton Burroughs USN) met & married in PCZ 1917. I love your pictures as I never knew them. My grandmother was French, where can I go to locate names/histories of the French in PCZ? Just wondering why a young lady would be in PCZ. Your pictures bring an era alive to me, thank you so much. WOW--only half way thru the pics and I'm so home sick. Nice job!!!! I'm a Gatun girl (1959-1974...I lived in Ft. Davis for the last year with GI Hubby) myself. Are you going to the Reunion this year...I arranged a Gatun Gathering on July 22 Sat. at 2:00pm in the clubhouse Room. Good responses...at least 60/65 people. Get in touch with me!
Again, I'm love all the great memories!

Thank you so much for those great photos, and all the memories they dredged up. I lived in Gamboa, went for kindergarten, first grade there, Mrs. Norris for a gym teacher? don't remember. Got my B Badge at the Gamboa pool, so many memories. Thank you so much! I remember the train ride, from Gamboa to Ancon, when think it was 0.75 cents for the air condition car. Remember when, my twin and I where riding from Balboa to Gamboa, and "accidentally" forgot to get off in Gamboa, our dear "uncles" Mr. and Mrs. Herman "Woody" Henson and Nell, boy, where they upset. Those were indeed great times. Thank you so much! Best regards, Terra
