February 2000
I'm currently an Industrial Engineer student at the University of Oklahoma. My family moved out of Balboa, to La Cresta, around the time when my mom (Shirley Maduro) retired at the end of December of 1999. I do plan on going back when I graduate.
Great layout, well organized and informative. Hope to be able to reestablish old friendships and keep in contact with them. v/r Mike
enjoyed the info. my wife and I worked in the zone for a couple of years. I worked at the locks and Balboa Elect. div. Thanks again.
I have found and been reacquainted with many old friends through this site, THANK YOU! If ya'll haven't heard/bought your copy of Robert Bryan's "Panama Last Man Out" CD you ought to, it's really very good. If you think viewing the Canal Zone web sites is fun you need to try it listening to this CD, it makes the experience that much better!!
Well finally left panama&transferred to Memphis. Working for the Army Corp of Engineers. Miss all my friends.
I found your cyber museum very interesting and also brought back some found memories having been stationed at Fort Davis with the 4th Bn 10th INF what happened to that unit? keep up the goood work!
I just had your site referred to me and just from looking at the heading, I knew It was a very professional site to keep at a favorite.
I will forward this also to my brother Douglas in Kerrville, Texas.
I was glad to see and received information about the canal zone. I am originally from Paraiso. I don remember much about it since the last time i saw panama was in 1974.
Just browsing, born and raised in the canal zone. Graduate from BHS in 1966
I really like the site as it gives you access to a lot of things in one site that we can go to very easily. Thanks!! PS, Where did you learn to construct Webpages? I'd like to learn but don't know where to start studying. VG
Had to leave Panama last year but its nice to see pictures of Panama to forget I'm in Saudi. Just got a job in Panama be back soon. Thanks
Listening to you and your comments plus your photos got me really home sick, and ready to take it all back and turn the clock back to 1954.Tony Bennet was doing "Rag to riches" and Eddie Fisher was doing " Oh my papa" and lets not forget" SHHHII BOOMM " by the crew cuts. Hey looking forward to some Cristobal and Colon photos. That is the place were it most happened. thanks for the trip to paradise.
