Here is a really cool photo from the Richard Erbe collection of the interior of Gatun Commissary in 1943.  According to the caption, the is the "New Gold Commissary" in Gatun.  All nice and clean, this was certainly an upgrade from the original Gatun Commissary that was down by the Gatun train station since the construction days.  I believe it is the same building that is shown in a previous photo of the week from June 2001.  Click the link below.
