This week's photo is off the beaten track, but another great snap shot in time.  Many of Atlantic Siders and especially those of Gatun should remember this old watering hole.  I played many a game of liars dice at this bar back in the day.  This was the Aides of Navigation Club bar down by the launch dock lake side next to the Gatun Train Station.  There is a sign above the center mirror that says At. Locks Employees.  Check out the large cans of Chee Wees in the cabinet behind the telephone. I wish this photo was clearer, but it is a scan of a 35mm slide that I took back in the early 70's.

We went up to the second floor one time and it was an empty room that looked like it must have been for meetings at one time and had a bunch of large old construction day photos in frames stacked up.  I wonder what ever happened to them.
