CZ Images contributor Bill Fall just sent me these photos he took on a recent trip to Panama.   His email indicated that the Gatun Pool has a new crack in it and that it will be permanently closed now.  I guess with all the blasting that is being done building the new set of locks has taken it's toll on the old pool.  What a shame.  I wonder how many Zonian kids learned to swim in that pool.  I know I taught quite a few when I worked there in the early '70s.  It sure looks odd without the housing area to the right and beyond the pool, which will be the new locks.

Below is a photo Bill took of the Gatun Gym which is special to me as my first full time job with the Canal Zone Government was in that gym and later transferred down to the pool next door.
