This is our second to last photo from the Michael J. Carroll collection.  This is a really great photo showing a housing area in Gatun.  The Carroll's moved to Gatun when Michael was employed on the Gatun Spillway project.

Belle's hand written caption on the back of the photo reads:

"Mr. & Mrs. Duckworth  & Daughter Lucil, Gatun, C.Z. 1912, We lived just around the corner."  

While zooming in on these photos at full size, I noted that the houses were in a bit of disrepair.  These houses were getting on in age at the time and I am sure that priority one back in these days was not to maintain the houses.
