Photo of the Week
July 21, 2013

This week's photo is another gem from the Dorman S. Conklin, Sr. collection.  Here we have a steam powered Carousel which could be either in Colon or Panama City back in the construction days of the Canal.  The steam engine is to the right of the Carousel.  You can see the smoke stack behind the barrel and spoke wheel.  The operator is sitting in the make-shift shack.

Isn't this a really great capture in time?

You know, this is what I love about all these great old photos that come from personal collections.  I will be posting more from the collection in the next few weeks.
