Photo of the Week

Continuing once again with the Ralph Sartor collection. Another great photo for this week. Two weeks ago, I posted the motorized inspection car. This week is a hand operated inspection car that is known by most rail fans which a handle is pumped up and down by two or more operators. This photo is special as it has Ralph himself sitting on the front end of the vehicle with five West Indians standing up. I am puzzled as to where this photo was taken, but I am assuming that it is along a cut excavation town area. Two tracks are shown and rather large and multi tier power poles. It appears that there are several box cars converted into living quarters in the background. What an excellent shot to take us into the New Year.
