Photo of the Week
December 16, 2012

Continuing with the Ralph Sartor collection this week. What a great photo for this week.  The trials and tribulations of rolling stock and turning them around to go the other direction.  This may be easier than it looks.  The writing on the back of the photo says, "Turning the Motor Car on its portable turn table".  These small motor cars were used to inspect progress along the diggings.  In this scene, the tracks are right on the edge of the Culebra Cut.  The buildings in the background could be the town of Empire, Cascades, etc.

Another great capture in time.
