Photo of the Week
August 26, 2012

This week's photo is  real classic photo that I recently got from Ed Armbruster.  This photo's caption reads, "Dredging Division Activities: Ferry. View showing improvised ferry taken over from U.S. Army operating between east and west side of Pedro Miguel Locks, Gaillard Cut section June 30, 1928".  Really cool photo!  This was the only way to get vehicles over the left over west bank towns.  Paraiso is seen in the background with the Dredging Division headquarters in place at this time.  Gamboa isn't built yet.  Both Ajax and Hercules cranes are docked.  Not the old 1920 vintage cars.  Great old photo.  Thanks to Ed for the donation.
