Photo of the Week
July 31, 2011

More great photos from the Fred and Lilian Ramsey collection that was sent to me by Richard Crowe who is Fred Ramsey's Great Nephew.

I was going to post a couple more photos from the bottom of the cut this week, but decided not to as they were not as exciting as the ones I picked for this week.  This week's photos were taken up the tracks from Camp Elliot at the town of Gorgona.  The scene is the Gorgona train station.  This train stop goes all the way back to the 1855 rail road days and went underwater when the lake was flooded.

The photo above is a really great photo!  The caption on the below the photo in the album reads, "French Priest".  No reference to the other man.  Must have been just someone waiting on the train like the priest.

Below is an overall photo of the Gorgona train station.  Work must be going on with the roof when this photo was taken.  Fixing things up now that the United States is now coming in to take over the French's failure.  Things must have been looking up now with new jobs and people coming to Panama.

And as I always say...."This is some really Great Stuff".

Many more great photos coming in the weeks ahead.
