Here is an overall view of the new locks excavation.  You can see the Terex shovel that I had a zoom in on two weeks ago  I have shown with yellow arrows the new excavation and the original 1940s excavation.  As I mentioned, the prism line of the old chamber would not work for the new channel and will be used as part of the water recovery area.  The new excavation you see will eventually be a new modern chamber that will hold the very large ships.  Cocoli Hill is seen in the background and you can see a ship in Miraflores Locks.  Pretty impressive!!
