Since today is Memorial Day, I thought this photo to be appropriate.  This is another Life Magazine photo taken at the Miraflores Locks during WWII.  Shown here is one of the many U.S. soldier sentries that were present on all the Panama Canal Locks during the war and two war ships approaching for transit.  

God Bless all of our fallen service men today and yesterday.  If it wasn't for them, we couldn't enjoy the freedoms we have today. We thank all of you.
