Photo of the Week
August 24, 2008

Aerials are over for now.  The shoulder is getting better fast.  The doctor can't figure out how it is getting better so fast, but I told him I am from the Valley of the Rio Chagres.  All those who drink the water of the Rio Chagres heal quickly and live a long and good life!

Well, since I feel better, I will post a really great old photo taken during the construction of a undetermined set of locks.  Here are two guys chilling out or loafing on the stairs of a lock's incline.  You can see the construction of the towing locomotive tracks on each side of the stairs, so I would say this photo was taken on the center wall of one of the Locks.  I love this photo...one guy reclining on the wall and the other with dirty cover-alls and smoke in his mouth.  I wonder who these guys were and what their job were.

Aren't these old photos great!!!?  Long live our American Heritage and the construction of the Panama Canal.

No identification as to the origin of this photo with the exception of "Panama Canal" written on the back.
