During the construction of the Madden Dam a town was built for those working on the project.  The photo above is the first photo I have seen of this town. This is an overall view of the 1931-1934 Madden Dam housing with the Chagres River seen in the distance.  This is prior to the completion of the dam so the lake is not formed yet.  You can imagine all the low land see near the river and farther will be under water soon. This is another wonderful vintage photo from the Dick Brown collection.  

After posting this photo earlier today, I started thinking that this area is where "Camp Chagres" was.  The settlement shows being on the curve before the dam area.  This looks like the road going to Camp Chagres....
