This week's photo is the third in a series of several really great paintings by William Harnden Foster.  The images came from a magazine article written and illustrated by William Harnden Foster, in 1910, titled THE CANAL BUILDERS.  The images and article were published in a Scribner's Magazine, in 1910. 
      This week's image caption read, "In the wake of their disturbance came the devouring, clamoring, wedge-formation of steam shovels."  
      Imagine the heat down in the cut from all these steam shovels and Panama sun.  Another wonderful  old painting  captured by the artist so that the scene could be preserved forever
