We have two photos this week.  These are quite old and came with a group of photos taken in the very early days after the Canal opened.  The subject of these photos is a swim meet for the local soldiers!  This is so interesting that they actually held this swim meet in a Panama Canal Locks chamber at Gatun Locks.  I guess since they didn't have swimming pools back then, the was the next  best thing.  Great view in the background of the power house.

Top photo you can see everyone lined up on one of the lock gates.

Photo below shows the troops swimming hard in the return lap.  Great view of the Gatun Locks Light House and Control House.
