Boys will be boys!! Ever wonder what little boys did back in the Canal construction days? I was very pleased when I found this priceless image of a group of boys pretending to be steam shovel operators. If found this image in the book, "Panama's Canal", by Carl R. Oliver. The book's title for this photo is: "Early symptoms of "canalitis." Boys growing up in the canal construction town play with a home-built toy Bucyrus steam shovel in 1906." You have to love the little guy in the front with the big hat and leggings. What a classic!!!
