Okay...how about a bright and colorful beginning for 2004?  CZ Images contributor Nina Brown sent me this great photo of a Bougainvillea in full bloom by the Albrook Officers Club today.  I had a huge bush on the side of my house in Gamboa prior to my departure in '96.  We used to have to trim it every year as it would grow so large.  The Bougainvillea is such a beautiful bloomer!

I have posted the Photo of the Week early this week, as my family and I are heading up to the Western North Carolina mountains in the morning and returning after the New Year.

I think back on the old days when we would go to Amador Officers Club for New Years.  We would party all night to some great music, eat breakfast and head home.

God...I miss the Canal Zone days!
