Photo of the Week

A photo of my Mother, Kathryn Laurie Hummer in front of a sign in old Far Fan Beach. I calculate that the photo was taken in around 1934. We like to skirt the reality of the societal race issues of that time by citing the Gold/Silver distinction. In fact, it was far more discriminating than that as this photo will show. That was the way it was way back then and it is almost impossible to judge those days in light of today's progress. Interesting, nonetheless. Submitted by Charles W. Hummer, Jr.
