Photo of the Week
September 14, 2003

After posting last week's photo of the Ancon Post Office, a CZ Images contributor sent in this wonderful old photo showing the 3rd Ancon Post Office on the same exact spot as the later cement one.  This building is the typical architecture of the time for tropical type buildings  Ahhh...how things were so perfect back then.  The streets were paved with red bricks.  The folks could leisurely stroll to go and check their mail.  One thing you had to be aware of was were the horse droppings in the road were.  The first Ancon Post Office was located down town Panama City and the second located farther up the road towards the Ancon Hospital of the time.
