Memorial Day was celebrated in Canal Zone each year just as it is here in the United States. This is an old photo post card that I came across showing 1933 Memorial Day Service in Corozal Cemetery. Not the band members with the old style helmut.

On this Memorial Day I would like to salute all those brave men and women that have given the ultimate sacrifice so that we can have our freedom. Long live the memory of these great defenders of freedom.

And long live the memory of our Canal Zone heritage.
