Photo of the Week
March 31, 2003

Well....I tried to get a photo up last week, but the hotel I was staying in didn't have Internet access until Wednesday.  I purchased a subscription and the connection was up and down.  Anyway, no Photo of the Week for March 23, but I hope to make it up to all you visitors with the many photos I took while visiting back home in beautiful Panama.  We did a whirlwind tour of almost any place people would want to visit or do.  It was a great tour and Vicente Pascual did an absolutely magnificent job setting up all the Panama tour arrangements.  We went places that most tourists could only dream about. Bob Karrer did a great job in getting everyone set up here in the U.S. and keeping everyone grouped while in Panama.  Thanks guys!!  Because of you, 20+ former Zonians and some that never set foot in Panama before had the time of their lives.

Could I have ever imagined that I would be able to sit in the cab of the "City of Gamboa" locomotive on the new Panama Railroad?  Well I did and I rode this great new train back and forth across the Isthmus of Panama like I never rode before.  70 miles an hour across the lake region!!  55 minutes from Corozal to Colon!!  What a difference since the last time I rode the train in the late '70s.

I took just over 500 digital photos while in Panama and will weed through them and make a "My Trip To Panama" web presentation for all of you to enjoy.  I will leave it with that for this week.
