Photo of the Week
February 24, 2002

I found this card today while digging through an old box of papers here at home.  It must have been a Pan-American Airways promotional card.  It has Panama Airways Transport Carrying Passengers Over Panama Canal printed on the lower card and Coast to Coast in 24 Minutes at the top.  Looking closely on the rear fuselage, PAA can be seen.  This aircraft appears to be a Douglas DC-3 approaching France Field for landing.  The DC-3 was the work horse of all airplanes and can still be found flying today.  In fact, I flew in one that COPA owned back in the late '70s to Bocas Del Toro.
