Photo of the Week
September 29, 2001

A couple of friends just returned from Panama last week and snapped this great photo.  It is great photos like this that spark a history history lesson of years gone by. This old original French equipment has laid here for years since it served both French and United States needs.  Across the Canal the Galapagos Discovery passenger ship lying on the bank after it's fiery end in 1999 (Click Here).  It too will be there for eternity unless Panama figures out a way to raise and move it.

See a mini-presentation about the Belgium Ladder Dredges whose skeletons are shown in this photo. (Click Here)

Another important but forgotten part of our Canal Zone heritage. Long live the memory of the Panama Canal Zone.
