This week we have a wonderful blast from the past! This photo
was taken from the Thatcher Ferry Bridge in the late 60's or early
'70s of La Boca. Shown in the lower portion of the photo is the
Canal Zone College. Looking up you can see the housing in it's
pristine condition as all Canal Zone housing was. Portions of
the tank farm can be seen on the right and in the distance at the foot
of Sosa Hill. The oil tank on the left edge of the photo was the
one that was painted like a Jack-o-Lantern each year. Great view
of the Administration Building in the distance and the roof of St.
Mary's Church. There are still multi housing to the right in
Williamson Place which my family lived when I was born.
Wouldn't it be nice if all this was
the same way today??!!
Bless our former Canal Zone and the
memories we have of it. Long live the Canal Zone.
