Photo of the Week
September 27, 2015

Like last week, this week's photos are a scans from my old 35mm slides I took in the early 80's while transiting the Canal on the boom of the Crane Hercules.  These will be the last of this series of slide scans which turn full circle to the first one I posted of us leaving Rodman on a launch.  These two are our approach to Rodman Navy docks.  I am not sure what these docks look like today or what they are used for, but this is the Rodman that I remember.  Below you can see one of the Crane Hercules's large pulleys that feeds cable to either the boom or hook.

This was a nice series and brought back good memories of this trip that most people wouldn't of had the opportunity to do a parcel transit of the Canal on the boom of the Crane Hercules.

Something new starting next week.
