I was looking through my many old Balboa Union Church calendars today to find a photo that might fit during this week of sadness.  I came across this photo of a very familiar plant back home in the Zone called Croton.  We all had this very colorful plant as hedges or plants near the house.  Note the long slender leaves which were common in the Zone.  Here in Florida, I have only seen them with a shorter and wider leaf.

When I turned to this page today and saw this photo, I got lost in it for several minutes.  Many thoughts raced through my head while looking at the confusion of colors and patterns. It was soothing to look at and made me feel a little better about things.  I hope it does the same for you.
