Photo of the Week

I came across some more old photos taken at Gatun Pool in the late 1940's right after the pool was built. The top photo is a day of swimming lessons. I spent many hours and days standing on the deck or in the water of this pool teaching the little, medium and large students how to be safe in the water and learn to swim. The other two photos were taken a day that a interschool swim meet was held.

It sure seems that it was so very good that this old pool was built. The demand was certainly good and served it's purpose until the end.
