Photo of the Week

I received word this morning that my good friend Bob Karrer past away. Bob was an avid collector of Canal Zone and Panama memorabilia along with tons of old and new postcards. The photo above was taken in 2003 at the home of Vicente Pascual in Panama during the Isthmian Collectors Club (ICC) trip to Panama. Bob was the founder of the years ago and had a newsletter to keep all us collectors in the know of what was going on in the world of collecting Canal Zone and Panama memorabilia. Vicente set up a really great tour for all of us covering all the former Canal Zone and interesting sites and trips in the Interior of Panama, El Cano Archaeological Park, El Valle and other places of interest. In the photo left to right are: Niko of the famed Niko's restaurants. a younger and slimmer me, ?, Vicente and Bob Karrer. Bob was a real hoot and will be missed by all of us. The report goes, that he passed away peacefully in his sleep. Rest in peace Bob.
