Memorial Day at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1961 - Photo by Warren H. Smith, Chief Safely Engineer for the Canal Zone Governor. On this Memorial Day I would like to salute all those brave men and women that have given the ultimate sacrifice so that we can have our freedom. Long live the memory of these great defenders of freedom. They will be holding a similar ceremony in Corozal this year as in every year. And long live the memory of our Canal Zone heritage.
