Photo of the Week
March 19, 2023

Last week we had old photo from around 1920.  The scene is a man I called Mr. Titch Field and his handsome cart that he is pushing with the words, "Titch Field Traveling Hotel" painted on the side of the cart.  I had no idea about this Titch Field name until CZ Images visitor Roy wrote me this:

"I really like your story line. I wonder if he or maybe is father might have worked at the Titchfield Hotel in Port Antonio, Jamaica And when he left, he just took this old cart with him. It is a beat up, very old cart. For the 1920's it would have been rather old for a wooden cart and possible from the early 1910's or older."

Of course I immediately hit the internet and found this old colorized post card of the Titchfield hotel in Port Antonio, Jamaica.  Could this story of the old card be true?  Anything was possible when the Canal was being built.
