Photo of the Week
This week we have an outstanding and interesting old photo from around 1920 with the looks of the old car. The scene is in front of the newly constructed Balboa Electric Substation. The town of Balboa is now under construction and the Canal is open for business. The star of the photo is front center who I am going to call Mr. Titch Field and this handsome cart that he is pushing has painted on the side, "Titch Field Traveling Hotel". I don't know if there was a hotel in Balboa named Titch Field, so I am surmising that this guy has a traveling business, which I think has to do with food for workers with the construction of Balboa. He doesn't look like laborer and he has what looks like a cooler in the cart. It is a good story and I am sticking to it. This photo is from the Scott Thomas collection. Thank you Scott. |
