Photo of the Week
Another great photo of days gone. The Mine Dock off of the Amador Causeway was always a great place to fish at night. My dad used to take my brother and I fishing. The more serious fishermen would have lights that they hung over the side of the dock and lower the light close to the water. This would draw small fish which in turn attracted the larger fish. You could fish during the day too, but night fishing was the best. This dock was originally built and used by the Coastal Artillery in Fort Amador to place and monitor mines in the Canal's approach channel hence the name "Mine Dock". Long live our Canal Zone history.
