Photo of the Week
This week we conclude our photo study with William Sibert and family. I thought this was a fitting photo to conclude with. Here is Goliath as they called him overlooking the work that he was responsible for ....the Gatun Locks. Indeed a very big job for a single man to oversee. I can't imagine the responsiblity. I mentioned the stairs to the diggings two weeks ago, well here is the top of stairs going down. Whether these were the ones that the family was standing on when we started this Sibert study or not we don't know. There is a sign behind Sibert stating that "Visitors not permitted without orders from the office". |
