Photo of the Week
January 12, 2020

I mentioned last week that I had a few more great wreaking crane photos to post.  Here is another dramatic photo on the relocation of the Panama Railroad line. I appears that the track foundation went out from under this locomotive.  You can see pieces of track, rock, engine and tender down the side of the embankment.  This must have been a big project as there are four cranes.  Note that they built temporary mini trestle foundations to help support the cranes so they don't fall down the bank.  It must have been determined that the locomotive was worth saving to expend this amount of work pulling it up.  It is not easy to see, but there is water pouring out of the back left side of the tender.

Great capture in time.

Another dramatic photo next week.
