I mentioned last week that I had a few more great wreaking crane
photos to post. Here is another dramatic photo on the relocation
of the Panama Railroad line. I appears that the track foundation went
out from under this locomotive. You can see pieces of track,
rock, engine and tender down the side of the embankment. This
must have been a big project as there are four cranes. Note that
they built temporary mini trestle foundations to help support the
cranes so they don't fall down the bank. It must have been
determined that the locomotive was worth saving to expend this amount
of work pulling it up. It is not easy to see, but there is water
pouring out of the back left side of the tender.
