Photo of the Week
July 21, 2019

As I mentioned last week, we are going to do a series of photos in the coming weeks from a collection that I purchased recently.  The series is about the old Strangers' Club in Colon.  As I mention also last week there isn't much information about this place which I find surprising for it was truly a  beautiful building as you will see in the weeks to come.  I am so happy to come across this collection which is probably one of a kind as it was owned by the original photographer.  Very rare indeed and a great history lesson.

The photo above would be what you saw as you walked in the front door.  These are the grand stairs that you take to get to the second floor.  Below is a side shot of the stairs and the reception desks to the side.  There is a small letter board on the counter, but cannot be read even when I zoom in to the high resolution scan.  There are four men behind the counter.

Next week we will continue to the rest of the ground floor.  This is going to be fun.
