Photo of the Week

As a follow up to last week's photo, here is a really great and historical photo of the construction days of the Gamboa theater, clubhouse, swimming pool, gym, commissary, McGrath Field bleacher, etc. I don't know what the building that is being demolished in the photo above is, but you can see the building in the photo below which was taken in May 1937. Also in the photo below, the old theater was the first building in the downtown Gamboa complex besides the commissary to be built.

Note in the photo above the passage way that was constructed to and from the clubhouse for access to the theater.

Photo above has the elementary school complete and below under construction.

These two photos are excellent for study of the early days of Gamboa's creation. Fantastic!!!
