I have been spending hours surfing through the National Archives website this week looking at all the great aerial photos, photos and maps. I downloaded these two as I thought that they were very interesting photos. Taken February 26, 1938 is a capture six Boeing B-17 airplanes flying over the Canal Zone on the way from Miami, Florida to Buenos Aires, Argentina. You can see Gold and Contractor's Hill in the foreground of the photo above. Can you imagine sitting on top of Contractor's Hill and see these bombers flying over? What a site. Below is a snap of the same planes flying by with the Summit Radio field below showing the tops of antennas towers. I have some more great photos from the Nation Archives in the next few weeks.
