Here is an interesting old photo of what looks
like a heavy Battleship transiting the Panama Canal. The
sailors are taking in the view of the Culebra Cut. There is another
large Battleship in the rear. It appears that these
two warships are transiting towards the Atlantic. Note the never ending cut
widening project with several Dredging Division type floating equipment in
action. Photographer and year not known.
Comment by CZ Images visitor and Canal Zone Historian George Chevalier : "Those two ships are battleships for the bird cage masts give it away for no cruisers had such mast structures. Date of photo hard to determine but my guess would be between 1915 to 1921. GC" |
