The Tivoli Through the Years with China
Below are some samples of China, their markings and makers that were used in the Hotel Tivoli. I have from dinner plate, desert plates, coffee cup saucer to a small tea cup. All the china is in good shape with the exception of the little tea cup, but it is still a gem. This china was basically made by two different sources; Syracuse China and Vitreous Ironstone - Dun Bennett Co. Ltd. Burslem England.
The Tivoli was known as the Hotel Tivoli in the early years and then the Tivoli Guest House up until it's end.
This tea cup is probably from the very early years of the Tivoli. I found this in a old bottle dump, believe it or not, on Gorgona Island. This means that someone stole this cup from the hotel and took it to their home in Gorgona. Interesting little history this cup had. The yellow stains are from metal in the old dump.
Here is a little bonus. This is another plate's marking that I came across.
