| The Canal Zone Swimming Pools were famous for their support of Instructional Swimming Lessons. Ever child had the opportunity to take free swimming lessons at any Canal Zone Swimming Pool starting at the age of four. Classes were progressive in levels from Beginner all the way up to that of a Senior Life Saver. No excuses on not knowing how to swim if you lived the Canal Zone. A child had to at least take the Beginners Class and successfully pass the test in order to enter the pool without Mom or Dad. A Swimming Pool ID Card was issued to those who successfully passed their "B Badge". |
