| This view is taken from a helicopter coming in from Limon Bay and the Caribbean Sea coast traveling due south. The 2400' runway has been used for many years for all different types of aircraft.. The row of barracks to the left of the airfield is home to the Jungle Operations Training Battalion - Panama. Fort Sherman Lagoon is the water body to the right. The mound that the white road goes around in the lower left is Battery Kilpatrick from the Coastal Artillery days on the Isthmus. The old Battery has been the home of the Ft. Sherman Zoo for many years. |
