My bi-weekly series of photos commemorating the Canal Zone Police continues with these two classic photos taken at Empire, Canal Zone.  The photo above shows officers sitting at the station's front desk.  The guy in civilian clothes could either be off duty or is a plain clothes officer.  The officer with the mustache is John Williams whose photo album these photos came.

The photo below is a great shot of the Empire Police Station with officers lined up on the stairs for the photo.  I find the strange little building attached to the main building very interesting.  I think it may have been a communal bathroom for both floors.

These photos are the sixth of a bi-weekly salute to the Canal Zone Police as we get closer to the 2002 Panama Canal Society Reunion.  This year,  both the Panama Canal Society and Panama Canal Museum will be having activities in honor of these great men and women at the 2002 Reunion.  See the past salute photos in the Photo Archives.
