Okay folks...this is getting good now.  On September 17, 2000, I posted a photo and narration about how they made the approach to the North End of Gatun Locks.  That photo showed a dredge "low and dry" after excavating the area down to 70 ft. below sea level.  Well, here is a photo that I recently purchased that shows that same dredge floating and excavating.  I was very excited when I saw this post card and had to get it to add to the previous presentation.  As you can see in this photo, a large retaining wall has been constructed on the end of the lock chamber to hold back the flooded area during dredging...  Great Stuff!!!
