bottom on the ditch. The town of Empire or the edges of Culebra is on the edge
looking over. As the digging progressed, these buildings had to be removed or relocated.
The constant slides would take them down into the bottom of the ditch if not
careful. Note the steam shovel digging away. There is a crew of men in the
center of the diggings. These men could be setting explosive charges in preparation
to go deeper. |
